Electronics
Adapter and Converters
The voltage in Argentina is 220V, which is higher than in North America. Check your electronic devices to see if they can accept both 220V and 110V. If not, you may need to purchase a converter that will adjust the current.
Most modern electronics, such as phones, computers, and tablets, accept 220V. However, make sure to verify this for your devices. It should be mentioned on the back of your charger.
Converters
If you need a power converter for your electronic device, I suggest purchasing it before arriving in Argentina. Personally, in thirty years of traveling back and forth, I've never needed such a converter.
I do have a large converter at home in Buenos Aires, but I use it for larger devices I've purchased in North America and need for cooking, such as a rice cooker, blender, multi-cooker, etc.
Sockets
Wall sockets in Argentina are different from those in North America. They can be circular or triangular, which means that you will need an adapter that converts flat to circular prongs.
These adapters do not convert voltage; they only adjust the shape of the plug. They are affordable and can be found at any hardware store or on Amazon.
If you are staying at La Maleva, you won't have to worry about this. Each room will be equipped with a power strip that can accommodate the shape of the prongs on your electronics.
