First, Some Generalities About Packing
-
Fewer bags means less to worry about in transit. BA flights are usually full so keep your carry-on simple.
-
Leave space in a suitcase for things you may buy - souvenirs, SHOES, clothes.
-
Do not buy new shoes for dancing during the trip. You will ruin your feet and your enjoyment of the milonga. Come with a couple of your favorite pairs.
Clothing for Milongas
-
Dance in comfortable and well-used shoes - do not plan to buy shoes in BA to use on the trip. New shoes = new dancer, old shoes = more experienced dancer.
-
Bring two pairs of shoes with different soles - the floors are varied and unique.
-
Men: Classic: Button-up shirt and dress pants. Modern: Jeans and button-up shirt or a t-shirt will do.
-
Women: Bring simple, nice clothes and once you are there, buy a couple of things that you see are in fashion. Pack fewer outfits that can be mixed and matched.
-
Check out this video for ideas.
Clothing for the Workshops
-
Wear comfortable clothes. The workshops are not a milonga or a practica, we will do some stretches and mobility exercises together. You may choose to lay on the ground during some of those. Plan your outfit accordingly.
-
Bring the most comfortable dance shoes you’ve got. You will appreciate having practice shoes available too. Shoes with rubber heels are better for your body than those with wooden or plastic heels.
-
If you are staying at La Maleva, you may like to wear slippers when walking around. That detail can make everything feel more relaxing.
